Thailand limits visa-exempt visits to 30 days for tourism from 15 September 2026
From 15 September 2026, British citizen passport holders entering Thailand under the visa exemption scheme can stay for up to 30 days for tourism only. Business travellers must obtain the appropriate visa before travelling.

Visa-exempt entry does not cover conferences, meetings or other business activities. Travellers visiting for these purposes should obtain the appropriate visa before departure.
Visa-exempt tourism entry is normally limited to two entries per calendar year. Anyone who has already used the scheme twice in that year may need a visa before travelling.
Travellers who entered before 15 September 2026 will usually retain the stay granted on arrival. For a longer stay, obtain the appropriate visa before travel or, if eligible, apply for an extension through Thai immigration.
