Thailand limits visa-exempt visits to 30 days for tourism
From 15 September 2026, British citizen passport holders entering Thailand under the visa exemption scheme can stay for up to 30 days for tourism only. Business travellers must obtain the appropriate visa before travelling.

Visa-exempt entry does not cover conferences, meetings or other business activities. Tourism entry under the scheme is normally limited to two entries per calendar year; travellers who have already used it twice may need a visa.
Travellers who entered before 15 September 2026 will usually retain the stay period granted on arrival. For longer stays, obtain the appropriate visa before travelling or, if eligible, apply for an extension through Thai immigration.
