Canada introduces Ebola-related quarantine and immigration restrictions
Travellers who have been in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda or South Sudan in the previous 21 days face arrival health assessments and mandatory quarantine or hospital isolation in Canada. Canada is also temporarily suspending certain immigration documents for residents of those countries.

The health measures apply to Canadian citizens, permanent residents and foreign nationals entering Canada after being in any of the three affected countries during the previous 21 days.
Travellers without symptoms must quarantine for 21 days. Those without a safe place to quarantine will be provided with an appropriate location. Travellers with symptoms will be isolated at a hospital for further assessment.
The health border measure will remain in place until 29 August 2026. Certain immigration documents for residents of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and South Sudan are suspended until 28 August 2026; the source does not specify which documents are affected.
