Travellers who held a Canadian visa in the previous ten years, or who currently hold a US non-immigrant visa, may be able to fly on an eTA instead of applying for a new visa.

The eTA is applied for online, costs a small fee and is usually approved within minutes.

Where a visa is required, biometrics remain valid for ten years, so repeat applicants often do not need another appointment.
